Sony Music UK Signs First Homegrown Country Stars
Sony Music UK is delighted to announce today (March 7th) the signing of its first homegrown country music artist – after agreeing a joint venture deal with WTW Music and rising stars Ward Thomas.
The duo – 21-year-old twin sisters, Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas – have been at the forefront of the developing UK country scene and are widely regarded as one of the nation’s most exciting new artists.
Ward Thomas’ debut album From Where We Stand was released by WTW Music in 2014 and proved a huge hit with fans selling 25,000 copies in the UK. It was named UK Album of the Year at the British Country Music Awards and reached No.1 in the iTunes Country Chart.
Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas say, “we are so excited to be moving forward with Sony; everyone is so positive and we can’t wait to start working with the new team on our next album!”
