Sony Music artists win at The BRIT Awards 2019

The BRIT Awards 2019 with Mastercard took place tonight at London’s O2 Arena with Sony Music artists picking up seven awards.

George Ezra picked up the first award of the night – British Male Solo Artist – before performing a perfect rendition of his #1 smash ‘Shotgun’ accompanied by eight-piece brass band The Hot 8 Brass Band from New Orleans.

Tom Walker was awarded British Breakthrough Act by public vote, whilst The Carters picked up International Group.

Little Mix walked away with the BRIT for British Artist Video of the Year award for ‘Woman Like Me’ with Nicki Minaj, which was voted by the public, before delivering a show-stopping performance of the song with Ms Banks, featuring an army of backing dancers dressed head to toe in pink.

Calvin Harris brought down the house with a medley of his singles ‘Giant’, ‘One Kiss’ and ‘Promises’, featuring huge performances from Rag’n’Bone Man, Dua Lipa and Sam Smith and then picked up the awards for British Producer of the Year and British Single for ‘One Kiss’ with Dua Lipa.

P!nk was presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award, which has not been presented at The BRITs since 2012, by Khalid and closed the show in style with an amazing rendition of some of her biggest hits: ‘Just Like Fire’, ‘Just Give Me a Reason’ (featuring Dan Smith from Bastille), ‘Try’, ‘What About Us’ and new single ‘Walk Me Home’.

Chairman and CEO of Sony Music UK, Jason Iley said, “last night’s show was a fantastic celebration of both British and international music and a wonderful reminder of how lucky we are to work with so many extraordinary artists.”
