Sony Music artists nominated at the 2021 MOBO Awards
The MOBO Awards will take place on 5th December this year, with Sony Music artists including Tems, Joy Crookes, Headie One and JAE5 among the nominees.
Co-hosted by Little Mix’s Leah-Anne Pinnock and Munya Chawawa, the awards show will feature performances from artists including Tems.
The MOBOs celebrate Black music and culture, with recognition of the achievements of British and international talent across Hip hop, Grime, R&B/Soul, Reggae, Jazz, Gospel and African music.
Headie One scored a nomination for Album of the Year for his No.1 debut Edna, as well as Best Drill Act and Best Male Act. Fredo is up for Best Hip Hop Act and Video of the Year for ‘Money Talks’ feat. Dave, while Shaybo has been nominated for Best Female Act following her nomination for Best Newcomer last year. Loski and Russ Millions are both in the running for Best Drill Act.
Joy Crookes has been shortlisted for Best Newcomer following the release of her Top 5 debut album Skin last month, alongside BERWYN who took the stage to perform ‘Glory’ at the Mercury Prize earlier this year.
Davido, King Promise, Tems and Wizkid are all up for Best African Music Act. Wizkid is also nominated for Best International Act, along with Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, Polo G and Skillibeng.
