Sony Music Artists honoured at the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards
Sony Music artists from virtually every genre of music were recognised for their outstanding achievements at the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Pharrell Williams and Beyoncé led the Sony Music pack with three awards each. Pharrell walked away with Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Music Video, while Beyoncé took home Best R&B Performance, Best R&B Song and Best Surround Sound Album.
A host of Sony Music artists took the stage for live performances. AC/DC kickstarted the ceremony with ‘Rock or Bust’ and their classic ‘Highway to Hell’. Pharrell Williams sang along to ‘Happy’ with dynamic accompaniment from Lang Lang. Usher paid tribute to Stevie Wonder with ‘If It’s Magic’, with Wonder joining on harmonica.
Sia performed ‘Chandelier’ with Kristen Wiig and Maddie Ziegler interpreting the lyrics. Beyoncé returned to the Grammy stage to close the ceremony, performing ‘Take My Hand Precious Lord’ before segueing into John Legend and Common’s ‘Glory’ from the film ‘Selma’.
