Sony artists nominated for MTV VMAs 2017
Last night the nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards were announced, with a host of Sony artists shortlisted across the 14 categories.
DJ Khaled leads with four nominations, including the prestigious VMA Video of the Year award, plus Best Collaboration, Best Hip Hop and Best Art Direction.
Calvin Harris has also been shortlisted for Best Collaboration, with Feels ft. Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and Big Sean. He received a second nomination in the Best Dance category for My Way.
Sign of the Times by Harry Styles received two nominations, in the Best Pop and Best Visual Effects categories.
The Chainsmokers’ No.1 hit Closer ft. Halsey has been shortlisted for Best Collaboration and Best Editing. Double nominations also went to Fifth Harmony, with Down ft. Gucci Mane up for Best Pop and Best Choreography.
Khalid, Sza and Noah Cyrus all received recognition in the Best New Artist category.
Miley Cyrus’ Malibu received a nomination for Best Pop, while Kygo is up for Best Dance with his Selena Gomez collaboration It Ain’t Me. Foo Fighters have been shortlisted for Best Rock with Run, John Legend is up for Best Fight Against the System with Surefire, Future is up for Best Editing with Mask Off and A Tribe Called Quest are up for Best Visual Effects with Dis Generation.
The winners will be announced at the MTV VMAs on Sunday 27th August in Los Angeles.
