Kasabian Score 7th Consecutive UK Number 1 with Happenings

… and announce four huge November UK arena shows, plus special guests, The Streets – TICKETS HERE

Following a triumphant few weeks that saw a euphoric secret set at Glastonbury, a celebratory hometown headliner at Leicester’s Victoria Park, and the announcement of UK arena show, Kasabian score their 7th consecutive UK number 1 album with Happenings.

The eighth studio album from the band, comprising Sergio Pizzorno, Chris Edwards, Ian Matthews and Tim Carter, joins Empire (2006), West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum (2009), Velociraptor! (2011), 48:13 (2014), For Crying Out Loud (2017) and The Alchemist’s Euphoria (2022) in the group’s tally of chart-toppers.

The band also boast two further Top 40 LPs: 2004 debut Kasabian (4) and Kasabian: The Albums (22), a box set of their first three studio releases.

Kasabian’s Sergio Pizzorno says: “What’s up, pop pickers? That’s seven Official Number 1 albums on the spin. Thank you to our fans, the greatest in the world. We’re nothing without you, we absolutely adore you!” – WATCH HERE.

Kasabian are now level with Blur, Muse, The Prodigy, Paul McCartney, Barbra Streisand, Elton John, Cliff Richard and Ed Sheeran, all with seven Official Number 1 albums apiece.

Happenings also tops this week’s Official Vinyl Albums Chart, the most popular record on vinyl of the past seven days, and the Official Record Store Chart, the most-purchased LP in independent UK record shops this week.

Co-produced by Serge and Mark Ralph (Zara Larsson, Clean Bandit, Rudimental), the follow up to 2022’s #1 album The Alchemist’s Euphoria, Happenings is 10 quick, sharp, visceral doses of fresh heavy hitters, drawing inspiration from the anything-goes art performance late-1950s. Veering between the dance floor to the mosh pit, tracks over three minutes were outlawed (well nearly), and with those 10 tracks clocking up to 28 minutes and 51 seconds (“A minute shorter than the Ramones debut”), Happenings is not only an album that never overstays its welcome, but leaves listeners craving more.
