Columbia Records and Syco Music win at the 2017 Music Week Awards
The UK music business gathered on Wednesday 5th April at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel for the annual Music Week Awards. Hosted by broadcaster and presenter Lauren Laverne, the event recognised and celebrated some of the amazing work across the industry.
Columbia Records and Syco Music both had an amazing evening, winning two of the most prestigious categories.
Columbia Records received the coveted A&R of the Year award while Syco Music took home, arguably the most prestigious award of the evening, for Record Company of the Year. This follows on from what has been a fantastic year for Syco – achieving No.1 albums for both Little Mix and James Arthur, and Little Mix winning their first BRIT Award in February.
Tyler Brown, Managing Director of Syco, said, “we weren’t expecting this. We’d like to say thank you to all the artists – we obviously wouldn’t be here without them – it’s an honour to work with such talent. Thank you to everyone who works at the label, the superstars from the A&R department to marketing and digital, always striving to make world class records.”
