Bruce Springsteen scores his 12th No.1 album with ‘Letter To You’
Bruce Springsteen has scored his 12th Number 1 album with Letter To You, making UK chart history.
Outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined, Springsteen’s twentieth studio album is the fastest-selling album of 2020 so far. He is the first credited solo artist to have racked up a No.1 album in five consecutive decades, topping the charts in the ‘80s, ‘90s, ‘00s, ‘10s and ‘20s.
Letter To You marks the E Street Band’s first time recording live together in decades. The album’s twelve tracks include material recently written by Springsteen for the E Street Band, as well as new versions of legendary but previously unreleased compositions from the 1970s.
The record is accompanied by a feature-length documentary titled Bruce Springsteen’s Letter To You, which is available exclusively on Apple TV+. Directed by Thom Zimny, the film features full performances from the E Street Band alongside in-studio footage and never-before-seen archival material.
Throughout the documentary, Springsteen provides a deeper look into Letter To You, sharing the thoughts and feelings behind the record and putting the new music into the context of his entire body of work.
