George Michael’s iconic ‘Freedom’ video reinvented
On October 30th 1990, the legendary pop song George Michael’s Freedom! ‘90 was released through Epic Records.
The iconic video for the song was a game-changer. Still regarded as one of the greatest and most influential pop videos of all time, it generated a new audience for George and his work.
In a groundbreaking first, George didn’t feature in his own music video. Instead, it starred five of the most successful models in the world, for what would go on to make promo history.
Twenty-six years later, Vogue has collaborated with Sony Music and Instagram to create a contemporary version of Freedom! ‘90 in honour of George
Michael’s groundbreaking video.
Featuring some of today’s most celebrated supermodels including Adriana Lima, Joan Smalls, Anna Ewers, Irina Shayk, Taylor Hill and more. George Michael’s work continues to be re-discovered by new generations of fans.
