9th Annual Lovie Awards winners announced
The winners of the 9th Annual Lovie Awards have been announced, including three collaborative Sony Music projects. The Lovie Awards celebrate the best of the European internet across websites, apps, mobile sites and podcasts, with the online public voting for their favourite finalists to take home the People’s Lovie Award in each category.
George Ezra & Friends won two awards in the Podcast – Entertainment & Sport category: Gold, as chosen by the judging panel, and The People’s Lovie, as voted for by fans. There have been two series of the podcast, which is made by George Ezra in partnership with Columbia Records and 4th Floor Creative.
Mark Ronson’s interactive music video for ‘Pieces of Us’ featuring King Princess has won Gold in the Best Use of Stories category. Purpose-designed for Instagram Stories, the video was a collaboration between Sony Music UK’s 4th Floor Creative, Columbia Records UK and Facebook Creative Shop, with creative direction from Marriage and visual FX from Dan Moller.
Lastly, Rick Ross’ Born to Drive Facebook Instant Game – released in conjunction with the album Port of Miami 2 – scored three awards: Silver for Best Use of Messaging & Bots, plus Bronze & The People’s Lovie for Branded Game or Application. Conceptualised by 4th Floor Creative, Columbia UK, Sony Music US and digital creative agency Phantom, the game allows players to drive through Miami streets and rack up points by collecting special items.
